On the order of ice cube trays, the FoodCuber allows you to easily pour and store leftovers in pre-portioned cubes. FoodCubers come with lids that snap on for water- and air-tight sealing, and there are clearly marked fill lines on the sides. Frozen food, thawed for a few minutes in the container, slides out with ease.
The FoodCuber comes in three sizes: the 2-cup tray (shown on page 27 of Cooking for 2 Fall issue) that holds two 1-cup or 2-cup servings; a 1-cup tray, with 4 cubes that hold 1 or ½ cup portions; and a 1/2-cup tray, with 8 cubes that hold 1/4- or 1/2-cup portions. Made of heavyweight polypropylene, the trays and lids are freezer- and dishwasher-safe. Suggested retail is $7.49 per tray; $19.95 for a set of each of the three trays.
