Not only does the colander drain liquid from foods, but it can also be immersed in a pan of boiling water so you can cook right inside it. Use it to blanch or steam vegetables, boil shrimp or drain pasta. The colander fits 3- and 4-quart saucepans and is heat resistant to 600 degrees.
